Phantomics successfully held a joint seminar with Professor Jonghye Woo lab from the Department of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) on September 25.
The seminar, titled “Advancing AI Together: Celebrating the Generalizability of Innovation,” brought together world-renowned experts in radiology to discuss the usefulness of AI in medical imaging.
The event opened with a welcome speech by the director of the Gordon Center for Medical Imaging (GCMI) at MGH, and featured presentations by key speakers, including Phantomics CEO Byoung Wook Choi (Yonsei University College of Medicine), Professor Jonghye Woo (Harvard Medical School, MGH), and Professor Fangxu Xing.
Founded in 1811, MGH is the third-oldest hospital in the U.S. and a leading institution in global healthcare. It is an advanced general hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School and houses one of the world's largest medical research centers. Professor Jonghye Woo was appointed as a professor in the Department of Radiology at Harvard Medical School in 2015 and has maintained a collaborative relationship with Phantomics since its early days.
In June, Phantomics established a U.S division in Boston to begin its full-scale entry into the U.S. healthcare market. In August, the company was also selected as a participant in the 2024 Soft Landing Entrepreneur, organized by the Seoul Business Agency and the Seoul Startup Hub in Gongdeok, which helps companies expand into the U.S. market, particularly in Boston.
As part of its efforts to build positive relationships with leading U.S. medical professionals, Phantomics plans to participate in a U.S. demo day this November. The company will receive tailored consulting through the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) and aims to secure business partnerships and networking opportunities with key local companies. This initiative is expected to lay a strong foundation for Phantomics' successful entry into the U.S. market.
